I remember taking this picture of Hank when we were on a fishing trip. He loved to fish and was happy standing in knee-deep water throwing out his line. I shared my life with this amazing man for almost 30 years. He was truly my best friend. The love we shared for each other only grew stronger as the years passed. We had so many good times together camping, the fishing trips, the vacations and just sitting on the back porch sharing our thoughts of the day. It breaks my heart to think that I will no longer hear his laugh or see his smile. He taught me to look at the brighter side of things and to enjoy life as it comes. I will remember all of the good qualities that he possessed and know that he had a good, happy life and that his soul and memories will live on to comfort all of us.

I just can't believe he's gone. I really only knew him from the Home Depot, but he was such a warm, wonderful and caring person. Hank was already with the Home Depot when I was hired. That was many years ago, but every time I would see him in the aisles on my way to punch in, there was always a smile and warm hello - even if his day wasn't going all that well. Even if he was in a "bad" mood, we'd talk and pretty soon that ornery little lopsided smile would appear and his eyes would twinkle. We shared camping stories and he always lit up when he talked about his fishing trips. We often had heart-to-heart discussions - we were alike in many ways. The store will never be the same with him gone. He will be greatly missed - and always remembered. I'm so grateful he was brought into my life.

I met Hank in the early nineties and we hit it off immediately as if we had always known each other. We worked on the Penn State Lionvision project together with the Eckerd brothers and Jack Ham. The laughs, the road trips, the breakfast at Kings long after the project ended...and so on and so on. I am proud to say that he was my friend. I learned a lot from this man and will always cherish the memories. This is very hard for me and anyone who knew this "gem" of a man. I send my thoughts and prayers to the family and encourage you all to find strength in the wonderful memories he gave to us all. I'm gonna miss you Hank!
