Walter Stankowski, 83, of Canonsburg, died Friday, March 19, 2021.
He was born September 14, 1937, in Hendersonville, a son of John and Magdelena Wilks Stankowski.
Mr. Stankowski proudly served his country with the United States Air Force.
Prior to his retirement, he worked as a large power assembler at McGraw Edison. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a member of the Hendersonville Sportsman's Club.
On August 11, 1962, he married his loving wife of over 58 years, Dolores Woznichak Stankowski, who survives.
Also surviving are his daughter, Christine (John) Pituch, of Peters Township; his son, Walter "Duke" Stankowski, of Canonsburg; grandchildren, Amanda and John Pituch; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Henry, Ed, Alex, George, and Joe Stankowski; his sisters, Ann Stevenson, Sophie Winseck, and Vicky Geray.
Family and friends are welcome Monday from 2-4 and 6-8pm, in the Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000. All guests are reminded facial coverings are mandatory and state mandated guidelines will be followed.
Burial will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, on Tuesday at 11am.
Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the cemetery, Tuesday at 10:50am.
