Rose Marie Bane of Canonsburg passed away on March 18th, 2025 at West Penn Hospital after a brief and courageous battle with Leukemia.
Rose was born August 19th, 1944 in Fredericktown, Pennsylvania to parents Natale and Marie Therese Dalla Santa, who passed when she was a little girl, her aunt Rose Wilson raised her to be the woman she was today.
During her working years she owned her own cleaning business. In later years, she worked as a passionate caregiver to many people who became dear friends. Rose loved to travel, hike and explore the world with her partner Sidney. She also enjoyed tending to her garden and cooking homemade meals for her family and friends.
Surviving is her loving partner of 37 years Sidney Lauther of Canonsburg, three sons, William Jeffrey Bane of Richeyville, Daniel Bruno Bane of Centerville, and John Anthony (Joey) Bane of Canonsburg, her granddaughter whom she raised, Teresa Sapienza, of Eighty Four. She was also a loving grandmother to Darianne (Tommy) James, Madalyn Bane, Lillian Bane, Breanna Bane, Brandon (Alyssa) Bane, Kaylee Bane, and Karlee Bane. She had seven great-grandchildren Natalie and Letty Sapienza, Leo James, Lilah and Louie Bane, Amiliano and Milan Demaske. Also surviving is her sister, Yvonne Fulimeni of Berea Ohio.
She is also survived by many friends including two lifelong friends Shirley Goodzich and Sandy Zets both of Fredericktown. In addition to her family and friends, Rose is survived by her beloved cat Sugar.
She was preceded in death by her daughter; Joanne Marie Bane, parents Natale and Marie Therese Dalla Santa and siblings; Joanne Long, Patsy and Natale Dalla Santa.
A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 10am-12pm with a service immediately following at Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street Canonsburg, PA 15317, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor,724-746-1000. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at givenow.lls.org or the Washington Area Humane Society washingtonpashelter.org. We lastly would like to sincerely thank the nurses, doctors and staff at both West Penn Hospital and AHN Cancer Institute of Peters Township.
