Mary C. Attenberger, 78, of Canonsburg, died Thursday, July 23, 2020.
She was born May 12, 1942, in Carrick, a daughter of the late Joseph and Alcide Dugal Franz.
Mrs. Attenberger was a member of St. Benedict the Abbott Church. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a registered nurse. Mary worked at several locals hospitals, South Hills Convalescent Home, Washington Hospital Visiting Nurses, and Albert Gallatin Visiting Nurses. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, and cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving is her very fortunate husband of 56 years, Thomas G. Attenberger; her sons, Thomas J. (Nicki) Attenberger, of Canonsburg, David J. (Wendy) Attenberger of Washington, and Michael W. (Beth) Attenberger, of Canonsburg; her daughter, Denise M.(Gil Kuchera) Zamiska, of Canonsburg; her brothers, Joseph (Linda) Franz, of Thomasville, North Carolina, David (Judith) Franz, of Apex, North Carolina, William (Laura) Franz, of Naples, Florida; sisters, Theresa Weed, of Mt. Shasta, California, Sr. Judith Franz, of Tucson, Arizona, Cathy (Dominic) Bulotta, of Cleveland, Ohio, grandchildren, Andrew (Alyssa) Zamiska, Amanda (Mike) Erstfeld, Casey, Cullen, Conner, and Madison Attenberger, great grandson, Luca Erstfeld, and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are welcome Monday, July 27, 2020 from 3 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm in Sollon Funeral and Cremation Service, Ltd., 30 E. College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000. In the continued interest of public safety, all guests are reminded to wear facial coverings and maintain social distancing. Crowd will be limited to 25 people in the funeral home. Private services will be held on Tuesday, followed by a celebration of Mary's life, at 12 pm at the White Eagles Society, 303 Adams Ave., Canonsburg, PA 15317. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Alzeheimers Foundation, in Mary's name. The family would like to extend their grateful appreciation to the staff at Townview Health and Rehabilation Center, for the compassionate care given to Mary.
