Marie T. Kouche

Marie T. Kouche, 97, of Strabane Trails Village of Washington, formally of Strabane, PA, died peacefully Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Concordia Hospice of Washington (Donnell House) following a brief illness.

She was born August 3, 1927, a daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Valentino, of Vandergrift, PA. 

Prior to retirement, Marie worked as a psychiatric aid at Mayview State Hospital for 36 years. She was a member of AFSCME Union.  Marie enjoyed baking, especially pizzelles, crafting, and taking care of her family and friends.

Surviving are her grandchildren, Gail (Ed Cupler) Kouche, Ellen Marie (Erik) Warrington; two great-grandchildren, Jayden Marie Warrington and Karley Rose Warrington; loving niece Cindy and her husband Bill Abbott and their daughter Elizabeth Bohman, who arranged weekly calls and made every holiday a special occasion for their Aunt; and cherished friends, Lori Kern, Donna Nozum, Eileen Caldwell, Joann Funa.  Marie is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her son, Frank A. Kouche, Jr. who passed on January 15, 2020; brothers, John R. Hampson, August F. Hampson, and Joseph G. Valentino; and sisters, Leona Smith, and Elizabeth (Betty) Long.  

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude for the excellent care provided by the team at the Donnell House, Dr. Kurt King's office (Kathy Small, Amy, Kim, and team), and the managers and staff at Strabane Trails Village.

Family and friends will be received Wednesday, 2-6pm, at Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, PA, 15317, 724-746-1000, Phillip L. Sollon, Supervisor.
Services will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 6pm.Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial contributions be made to Concordia Hospice of Washington Donnell House, 10 Leet Street, Washington, PA, 15301, in Marie T. Kouche's name.
