Carolyn Porco Obituary

Carolyn Lee Porco, 76, of Farragut, Tennesee, formerly of Canonsburg, died Friday, April 9, 2021, after courageously fighting her illness for 6 years.
She was born on the way to the hospital in Washington, July 31, 1944, a daughter of William and Helen Pasterchark Bishop.
Carolyn graduated from Chartiers-Houston, and the Penn Commercial School of Business. She secured a position in the personnel department of McGraw Edison, where she met and helped many present and future employees. Carolyn was well liked and respected for her professionalism.
On June 4, 1983, in Meadowlands, she married Carmen N. Porco, who survives.
Carolyn liked to play golf, take walks, play Bunco, shopping, and most of all, attending her weekly luncheons with her many friends.
Carolyn was a member of P.E.O. International. Philanthropic Educational Organization is a philanthropic organization that celebrates the advancement of women's education by providing scholarships, grants, awards, and loans. Carolyn enjoyed the work that P.E.O. preformed and participated in the various committees that qualified the applicant for funding from the various programs.
Due to Carolyn's husbands' company transfers, she experienced living in many Midwestern and Southern cities, Chicago, Columbus, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Lexington, Charlotte, and Knoxville. Her husband would buy the house, and Carolyn would make it a home. Carolyn was very active with many of the Home Owners Associations during these company moves. She served on a number of the management committee boards as president or director. She made so many friends along the way, some very close loyal friends. Carolyn's smile brightened all who knew and loved her, and will be sadly missed.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are her sister, Saundra Rasefske, of Belle Vernon; her brother, William Bishop, of Meadowlands; nephews, Robert (Mary) Rasefske, Brian (Karen) Rasefske, Dr. Jason Rasefske; stepson, Scott (Lisa) Porco; several nieces and nephews, whom she dearly loved.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial contributions be made to the MDS Foundation, 4573 S. Broad St., Suite 150, Yardsville, New Jersey, 08620, in Carolyn's name.
