John P. Kubicar, 84, of Canonsburg, died peacefully, Tuesday, August 15, 2017, in Concordia Hospice of Washington.
He was born April 14, 1933, in Letanovce, Czechoslovakia, son of Stephen and Anna Kacvinska Kubicar.
He was a member of Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Kubicar grew up in Fredericktown, and graduated from Beth Center High School. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, he worked at R.C.A., and later at ITS, as an Electronic Technician
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who enjoyed polka music and could repair just about anything. He enjoyed tinkering with projects around the house.
On December 5, 1970, he married his wife of over 46 years, Harriet E. Powell Kubicar, who survives.
Also surviving are his daughter, Belinda Anna Vogel, and her husband, Eric, of Marietta, Georgia; brother, Joseph Kubicar, sisters, Mary and Theresa Kubicar, all of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Zachary Vogel, and Elijah Vogel, numerous nieces & nephews of several generations.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Kubicar.
Friends will be received Thursday, 4-8pm, in Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, J. David Sollon, director, 724-746-1000.
Services will be held in the funeral home, Friday at 11am.
Interment will follow in the Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
