David L. Vaglia , 81, of Eighty Four, died Friday, April 13, 2018.
He was born March 1, 1937, in Pittsburgh, a son of James and Lena Bonomi Vaglia.
Prior to his retirement, he worked as a self employed carpenter. Mr. Vaglia was a member of the National Pike Steam Gas Horse Association. He enjoyed farming, tractors, and had a passion for raising his Hereford Cattle. He loved taking trips with his family, and especially fishing trips to Chautauqua Lake. On October 11, 1958, he married his loving wife of over 59 years, Mary Kay Kightlinger Vaglia, who survives.
Also surviving are his sons, Barry G. Vaglia, and his wife Robin, of Scenery Hill, Neil L. Vaglia, and his wife Bonnie, of Eighty Four; his daughter, Amy Y. Wiszczor, and her husband Joseph, of Canonsburg; brother, James Vaglia, and his wife Genevieve, of Brentwood; sister, Florence Boehme, and her husband George, of McMurray; three grandchildren, Mariah, Mickayla, and Noah; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Bracken.
Friends will be received Monday, 2-4 and 6-8pm, at Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, J. David Sollon, director, 724-746-1000.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11am, in the funeral home. Burial in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, will be private.
