Patricia Louise Donella Anderson, 78, of Houston, died peacefully Sunday, May 8, 2016, in Allegheny General Hospital, surrounded by her family.
She was born March 8, 1938, in Montour, a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Gazza Pollak.
She was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Parish, Canonsburg.
Prior to her retirement she worked as a Nursing Assistant. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, baking, reading, and especially loved and valued spending time with her family and friends. She was a mother of six, grandmother of sixteen, and great-grandmother of nine. She was a great role model to so many, and made many feel like they had a second mom.
Surviving are her sons, Ricky Donella, and his wife, Linda, of Washington, Michael Donella, and his wife Lisa, of Washington, Tom Anderson, and his wife Jenna, of Canonsburg; daughters, Debbie McVay, of Houston, Linda Barsody, and her husband Denny, of Canonsburg, Karen Maier, and her husband Jim, of Canonsburg; sisters, Carol Thani, of Utah, Margaret "Cookie" Passalaqua, and her husband Carmel, of Florida; 16 grandchildren, Katie Evans, Jessie (Breezie) Orbin, Ashley Orbin (Chuck), Jamie (Alan) Teatino, Albert Miles, Adam Miles, Jurdon Maier, Jimi Maier, Zack Maier, Abby Donella, Michael Donella, Carl Rubin, Zander Anderson, Kayden Anderson; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford W. Anderson, who died November 30, 1996; brothers, Edward and William Pollak; sisters, Mildred "Midge" Steffan, Shirley Basso and Virginia "Dolly" O'Neil; and her son in law, Ed McVay..
Friends will be received Wednesday 2-8pm, at the Sollon Funeral Home, Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director, 724-746-1000.
A blessing service will be held Thursday, at 11am in the Sollon Funeral Home, followed by burial in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
