Norma L. Vallet, 85, of Eighty Four, died Wednesday, March 30, 2016, in McMurray Hills Manor.

She was born January 1, 1931,in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Edward "Ivor" and Ruby Lawrence Williams.

She was a 1951 graduate of Canonsburg General Hospital School of Nursing. She continued her education at California State, graduating in 1974 with a Bachelor degree in Education. Ms. Vallet worked as a dedicated nurse prior to her retirement. She worked as the nursing supervisor at Mayview State Hopsital, the director of nursing at South Hills Convalescent Center, and with several other hospitals and doctor's offices.

She enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidering, oil painting, music, but mostly spending time with her family.

Surviving are her son, Philip E. Vallet, of Wellington, Ohio; daughters, Denise Curti, and her husband John, of Aliquippa, Susan Price, and her husband Adrian, of Bowie, Maryland, Janet Steede, and her husband John, of Eighty Four; 4 grandchildren, Katie Curti (fiance Douglas), Nicole (David) Davis, Aaron Price, Matthew (Emily) Steede; 3 great-grandchildren, Alyx, Sydney, Branson; sisters, R. Ileene Fetterolf, of Belfonte; Donna Dieter, and her husband Harold, of Sinking Spring, sister in law, Catherine (David) Dunn, several nieces and nephews.

On May 17, 1952, she married Philip Vallet, who died March 22, 2014.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Richard and Ronald Vallet, brother, Edward Williams, grandchildren, April and Timothy Steede, and daughter in law, Denise Vallet.

Friends will be received Sunday 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Sollon Funeral Home, Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director, 724-746-1000.

Services will be held Monday at 11am in the funeral home, with Pastor Tim Lindsay, officiating.

Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens.
