Nicholas Douglas Martinez, 69, of Canonsburg, passed away late Sunday afternoon, June 5, 2016 in Golden Living Center.
He was born November 8, 1946 in Los Angeles, a son of the late Nicholas Martinez and Henrietta Baltazar Perez.
He was Catholic. Nick enjoyed playing chess, pastrami sandwiches, collecting coins, and especially loved his family.
Surviving are his wife, Carol Ann Schultz Martinez; daughters, Nicole Martinez, of Canonsburg, Carol Martinez, and grandchild Bianca Johnson, of Seattle, Washington; Daughters Arlene Black, Robin Harsh, Lorie Hyatt, all of California; sister, Barbara (Colin) Chambers; brothers, James Perez, Hector Perez; aunts, Frances Jaramillo, Carmen Baltazar, and Virginia Ayala; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and his beloved pets, Mia, Max, Zoey, Dava, Tiny, an Lula.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, George Perez.
A celebration of Nick's life will be held in the Sollon Funeral Home, Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director, 724-746-1000, Thursday, June 9, 2016, at 9am. Departing prayers will be held at 9:30am in the funeral home, followed by Mass of Christian burial in St. Patrick Church, Canonsburg, at 10am.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
