Leonard Michael Wachtler, Jr., 64, of Houston, died Saturday, March 26, 2016.

He was born November 17, 1951, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Leonard and Catherine Ditzel Wachtler.

Mr. Wachtler was a 1969 graduate of Canon McMillan High School. He was a member of Canonsburg United Presbyterian Chuch.

He worked in the laundry department for 33 years at Mayview State Hospital. Mr. Wachtler enjoyed dartball, bowling, golf, tomato gardening, and was a fan of Pittsburgh sports. He was also active with the Canonsburg 4th of July committee.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Louise Bell Wachtler; his son, Matthew Thomas Wachtler, and his wife, Mary, of Houston; daughter, Alana Michelle Wachtler; sister, Susan Hurbanack, and her husband, Jim, of Avon Lake, Ohio; grandchildren, Noah, and Faith, and nephew, Jason.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his niece, Shana.

Friends will be received Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Sollon Funeral Home, Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director, 724-746-1000.

Services will be held Thursday at 11am, in the Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Don Coleman, officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Thursday.

Interment will follow in the Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
