John H. "Jack" Terhorst, Jr., 68, of Eighty Four, died Sunday, October 8, 2017.
He was born March 3, 1949, in Pittsburgh, the son of John H. and Madalyne Aiello Terhorst.
He was Catholic. He proudly served his country with the United States Navy, Sea Bees Batallion, serving multiple tours in Vietnam and Cuba.
Prior to his retirement, he worked as a union electrician and project manager for Gerson electric before becoming owner of M & J Electrical Contracting in Carnegie.
Jack was a member of I.B.E.W. retiree club. He enjoyed remote control airplanes, deep sea fishing, and especially boating and spending time with his family and friends.
On August 18, 1973, he married his loving wife Diane Morrison Terhorst, who survives.
Also surviving are his sons, Jay Terhorst and Michael Terhorst, both of Eighty-Four; sisters, Beverly Schultz, and her husband Greg, Toni Terhorst, of Scott Township; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 6-8pm, Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8pm, at Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, J. David Sollon, director, 724-746-1000.
Departing prayer services will be held in the funeral home, Friday, at 9:30am, followed by a Mass of Christian burial, in St. Patrick Church, at 10am.
Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray, with full military rites accorded by Veterans of Foreign Wars, post 191.
