James Thomas Kiefer, 77, of Canonsburg, died Wednesday, May 25, 2016, in his home.

He was born July 10, 1938, in Fredericktown, a son of the late John and Gladys Sellers Kiefer.

Mr. Kiefer was an active member of Disciples of Christ, First Christian Church, in Canonsburg, where he served as a Trustee and formerly as a Deacon.

Prior to his retirement, he worked as a meat cutter and delivery man for Loutsion's, and later did construction.

He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, motorcycles, especially Harley Davidson's, and loved his dogs and pets.

Surviving are his son, Eric Kiefer, and his wife Michelle, of Rock Hill, South Carolina; daughter, Lisa Kidder of Purcell, Oklahoma; son, Keith Daniel Kiefer, of Arizona; brother, Robert Kiefer, and his wife Patty, of Clarksville; sisters, Dorothy Chapman, and her husband Albert, of Fredericktown, Maryann Vihlidal, and her husband William, of Bentleyville; 6 grandchildren, April Cook, Kara (Joseph) Clemens, Brandon Kiefer, Nathan Kiefer, Morgan (Jacob) Reed, Brittany Kiefer; 4 great grandchildren, Teegan Reed, Keirsten Lutz, Adelena Cook, and Samuel Clemens; several close nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Valerie Globosky, who died September 21, 2001, and his brother, John Kiefer.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation. Arrangements entrusted to Sollon Funeral Home, Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director, 724-746-1000.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday at 4pm, in the First Christian Church, 120 Anderson Drive, Canonsburg, 15317, with Pastor Janet Scott Mace, celebrating.
