Grace L. Scears, 89, of Canonsburg, died Thursday, September 1, 2016.

She was born July 7, 1927, in Cecil, a daughter of Peter and Julia Preaux Eckels. In her younger years, she worked at R.C.A.

She was a dedicated homemaker and a member of Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed playing bingo, slot machines, and enjoyed traveling.

On January 25, 1946, she married Raymond Elmo Scears, who died August 25, 2007.

Surviving are her sons, Raymond A. Scears, and his wife Judy, of Washington, Bruce Scears, and his wife Kathy, of Canonsburg, Wayne Scears of Canonsburg; daughters, Bonnie Salsberry, of Canonsburg, Janise Kohn of Washington; brother, Alan Eckels of Washington; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Eckels, and her sister, June Kania.

Friends will be received Tuesday 3-8pm, at the Sollon Funeral Home, Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director, 724-746-1000.

Services will be held Wednesday in the Sollon Funeral Home, Ltd., at 11am.

Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
