Catherine Matyuf O'Shinski, 89, of Canonsburg, died Saturday, July 9, 2016.

She was born October 10, 1926, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Louis and Tekla Marjkowicz Matyuf.

Prior to her retirement, she worked assembly at the RCA plant, and was a member of the RCA retirement club. She also was a beautician, and enjoyed doing her friends and families hair.

Ms. O'Shinski was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Canonsburg.

She enjoyed polka music.

Surviving are her son, Walter O'Shinski, and his wife, Mira, of Canonsburg; sister, Dorothy Fedetz, and her husband Andrew, of Harrisburg; several nieces and nephews.

On May 10, 1947, she married her husband, Walter A. "Hogan" O'Shinski, with whom she shared over 62 years of marriage, until his death on December 30, 2010.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Ms. O'Shinski was preceded in death by her brother, Andy Matyuf; sisters, Ann Kolarsky, Mary Altieri, Eva Paraschak, and Helen Bushko.

Friends will be received Monday 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Sollon Funeral Home, Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director, 724-746-1000.

Departing prayers will be held in the funeral home, Tuesday, at 12:30, followed by a Mass of Christian burial, in St. Patrick Church, at 1pm.

Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
