The Sollon Funeral Home, Ltd. was founded in 1948 by the late Louis N. Sollon and Bernice Bysick Sollon.

Today, J. David Sollon is the supervisor and manager of the Sollon Funeral Home, Ltd. David has been a lifelong resident of Canonsburg. He graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1966 and has been a licensed supervisor since 1968. David is active in many community organizations and service projects and received the Exemplary Citizen Award in 1989, the Melvin Jones Award from Lions Club and the Distinguished Service award from the Medical Eye Bank of Pittsburgh. David has been Deputy Coroner in Washington County for 40 years. The Sollon Funeral Home, Ltd. is also a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association, and Southwest Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association.


David's wife, Mitzi Babeji Sollon, works daily in the office of the funeral home assisting with day-to-day operations. Mitzi was born and raised in Lawrence, Pennsylvania area and is a graduate of Canon-McMillan High School. Mitzi is currently a member of the Christian Mother's and Women's Guild of St. Patricks.
 
David and Mitzi have been married since 1967. They have two sons, J.D., Jr. with his wife Tammy, and Nick with his wife Robin. They also have two grandsons, Garrett Lloyd Sollon and Nicholas Paul Sollon; and two grand daughters, Shelby Lynne Sollon, and Madison Paige Sollon; three step-grandchildren, Jordon Shaw, Megan and Tyler Fairbanks.
